As an approved centre, we are committed to offer Equal Opportunities to all sections of society for education and career progression, subject to meeting with minimum eligibility criteria for enrolment and minimum competency level for a specific position / course curriculum for recruitment. As an approved centre, after enrolment in a specific course and after appointment on a specific position, we are committed to facilitating proper learning in the educational programme and career progression by providing special appropriate facilities and adjustments to professional with some constraints or limitations related to financial resources, physical disability, health-related issues for a specific period and similar other reasons beyond the control of the professional.
This policy states the assessment opportunities, its modes, quality assurance process involved with it and other processes to be adhered by IIMT Studies while performing the assessment exercise.
• Course: non-regulated course accredited by an awarding organisation regulated by a regulatory body in the UK
• Qualification: A qualification provided by an awarding organisation and regulated by a regulatory body in the UK
GDPR law and data protection:
Evidence, as a part of the demonstration of learners evidence, are subject to GDPR law and data protection policy. IIMT Studies must ensure to follow this policy along with the GDPR law and data protection policy. All learners must be aware of the dispatch of their evidence will be shared with IIMT Studies for external quality control and data record purpose, which will be subject to the GDPR law and data protection policy.
(C) Objectives of Policy:
1. To ensure neutral unbiased and objective assessment of attainment of appropriate learning by learners through appropriate assessment tools.
2. To ensure identification of malpractices and maladministration involved in the assessment exercise, and upon the identification, steps to be taken on the centre and the learner.
3. To ensure the accountability of qualified and trained competent staff design and develop appropriate assessment tools and also to ensure assessment policy while conducting modes of assessment and internal quality assurance.
4. To ensure prescribed role and responsibilities along with a precise profile of staff required to be involved in the assessment, internal quality assurance and external quality assurance.
5. Statement of quality assurance for the overall assessment process by IIMT Studies.
6. To ensure the rigorous process followed for all assessment modes applied by IIMT Studies to conduct the overall exercise of assessment.
7. To ensure listing the parameters to be followed by IIMT Studies for internal quality checks of assessments.
8. To ensure stringent parameters and internal checks and controls to be carried out before the certificates are issued to learners.
9. To ensure all assessments are recorded, kept safe in a safe custody in order to maintain its confidentiality

(D) Assurance statement:
IIMT Studies assures to have best practices in place for the assessment of its courses. IIMTS has also ensured external quality check and assessment at a regular interval , though the awarding body as and when Awarding Body deems appropriate.
The courses of IIMT Studies assures the skills and knowledge delivered at a higher level with an assessment process in order to assess the learner’s demonstrated evidence to claim the certificate. The assessment modes used are as per the needs of industries, employers and learners. The assessment mode are strategies and designed as per learner needs and delivery method.
IIMT Studies also ensures to offers training and support to staff members to ensure the assessment is robust, fit for purpose so that it passes through the internal and external quality checks.
IIMT Studies as a Centre:
IIMT Studies follows the prescribed guidelines as a centre to comply with the assessments framework for the courses it is recognised.
1. The assessment criteria defined in the policy must be met.
2. Centre must ensure of the assessment materials are stored securely
3. Centre must ensure safe and secured assessments
4. Ensure the right practice as prescribed in policy framework is followed
5. Ensure all permitted resources like assessment and virtual platform ,are made available to learners/invigilators in advance before assessments begin
6. Ensure to finish all administrative tasks finished within the specified timescale
7. Undertake IQA prior to submitting any marks to and request for EQA visit within the timescale
8. All required records are made available during EQA visit
9. Ensure the compliance of IIMT Studies policies and processes while conducting assessment
10. Assist learners on using tables, graphs, diagrams, and flow charts whenever appropriate and attach such evidences their work.
(E) Assessment assurance statement:
Every centre administrating external assessments are responsible for appointing adequate resources in terms of staff, technology, infrastructure and other resources required to perform the assessment exercise.
According to this policy, IIMT Studies is also responsible for ensuring the timebound record maintenance of examinations, internal quality assurance, submission of evidence to awarding body and demand external quality assurance. In all cases, centre must ensure the assessment is, fair , unbiased, reliable, valid and authentic, without any scope or possibility of Conflict of Interest .
IIMT Studies offers assessment modes to perform external assessments (EA) as per the needs of learners, industries and employers, which is covered in quality assessment cycle meant to ensure award the of the certificate of academic course to eligible learners. IIMT Studies as a Centre involved in external assessments must discuss the assessment and the arrangements with the awarding body for respective course.
It’s the assessment method which is informal, used within the class and which doesn’t leads to grading, marks or weighting. It can be used in modules and units. In this method, a learner may be declared successful or fail however this outcome of assessment doesn’t affect his/her final grade of course of counted in assessments of units. Quality feedback is the most required element of formative assessment. This type of assessment can contribute as a practice to summative assessment. Feedback can help learners evaluate their gained achievements against the learning outcomes of specific unit or component of qualification.

Summative assessments is an assessment to evaluate learners achievement against the unit learning outcomes considering various course/qualification criteria. It is a way to measure and to what extent, a learner meets the learning outcomes for a unit of study of his/her courses/qualification. This assessment is carried out once the prescribed curriculum of the course or component is completed through learning delivery process.

• Multiple choice questions (MCQ) exams
• Descriptive answers
• Essay submissions
• Digital evidences (Audio, Video, visual software/evidence/links)
• Open book exam
• Written unseen exams
• Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Graphical presentation of assessment:
From the above assessment options mentioned, the centre will adopt any of the available to conduct the assessments. The centre will be responsible to ensure the availability of resources prior to conduct the examination to ensure the quality standards of the awarding body in order to maintain the validity of the course/qualification.
IIMT Studies recognised the various models of delivery and the assessment which covers the E-assessments, widely known as digital assessment and distance learning assessment. It can be conducted real time or through an open book exam.
E-assessments shouldn’t be viewed as an easy option of assessment to a real-time, face-to- face assessment mode, as its robust, knowledge based and requires a hefty amount of presentation of knowledge during the assessment. After E-assessment a learner must attend a final interview to be able to awarded the result. During this assessment exercise, the centre will require below resources:
IIMT Studies is committed to ensure assessments are reliable, valid and carry high quality standards.
B-1.1. E-assessment through distance mode:
E-assessment through distance mode is performed through distance. In such assessments, learner can take the assessment from anywhere. It is not mandatory to appear in the classroom while taking the assessment. E-assessment can only be conducted if a center has:
• A licensed software to conduct the assessment
• Facility of audio and video recording
• A competent devise to conduct the assessment
Since, this is an e-assessment assessment mode, while conducting the assessment, the centre must ensure that learners must receive the date and time well in advance.
Additionally, Center must ensure the learner is the same person who has registered for the qualification/courses.
Open book exams are a part of E-assessment. They are allowed to be taken from anywhere. Mostly, learners will take the Open book exam from home. Open book exams are intend to test learning outcomes like closed book exams. During the open book exams, the learners ability to extract and apply their knowledge is tested. The paper format of open book exams are designed differently than a closed book exam. Open book exams are subject to scrutiny for plagiarism, Internal quality assurance and external quality assurance.
B-1.2. During open book exams:
• Learners knowledge is tested giving a real time situation in the assignment
• Learners ability to apply their thoughts on a situation should be demonstrated interpretating that situation prescribed in the exam paper
• Their practical experience plays a vital role as their qualification studies
• They can take help of internet, textbook, reading material or any reference video
• A learner can sit individually and must not take any help/support from their family, friends, colleagues or any experts in solving the assessments
• The length of answers are expected to be longer and the word count as this format allows a learner to spend more time to demonstrate his/her knowledge
• Additional evidence to support your answers are required
• Answers must be in relation to the situation asked to be in
• Standard theorical answers will result in achievement of learning outcomes
• Learners answer must meet learning outcomes provided in course information
Learners must be go through the regular studies and prepare for exams. Keeping misconception that during open book exams studies are not required will not help as learners are required to apply their knowledge and demonstrate their ability to solve the assignments given, which are a real time situations. Such exams demand more deeper knowledge to be demonstrated than a traditional closed-book exam mode.
B-1.3. How to appear in exam:
A learner may appear in exam from anywhere in the world. However the guidance is given as under which may help you complete exams successfully. A learner:
• must prepare him self /organise all resources for open book exam in advance
• should have a quiet room to sit
• should be focused on time passing while appearing for exam
• should have better connectivity to submit the evidence on portal. The timescale to submit the evidence appears on portal
• should review the evidence carefully before submitting on portal
• should not be stressed &should have required eatable & drinkable while appearing for exam
• must follow plagiarism rules & must not take any assistance/advice from any colleague / batch mate /family/centre to solve the assessments, failing which, learners assessments will be rejected and registration will be subject to revocation by centre.
• should focus on quality of answers putting himself/herself in a real time situation as prescribed in the paper and ensure to produce entirely his/her own work
Open book exams submissions are done on IIMT Studies education portal. Centre must ensure to:
• Provide sufficient training to learners before they take the Open book exams.
• Take final interview and record it for IQA and EQA process
• Must follow the final interview criteria as mentioned in IIMT Studies Centre Arrangement book
B-1.4. Preparing for Open book exam:
Learners are required to understand the purpose of the open book exam while preparing for the examination. To prepare for Open book exams:
• Learners may apply their course knowledge at their workplace
• Read the study material and reference book provided during the studies
• Learner should be preparing with extra analysis of real world and the subject
• Learners should try learning latest acclaimed techniques and theories established in their subject, implemented by industries
B-1.5.Learner’s identification criteria:
Learner must carry any valid identification evidence while appearing for E-assessment through Distance mode (final interview). The evidence must be in English language. It can be:
• a valid passport copy
• a valid driving license
• a valid national identity card
The form of identification must be original and not a colour copy or a photo copy. The evidence will be cross verified with learners registration details. Learner will not be able to attend the interview if the identification criteria are not met.
Additional criteria to follow during E-assessment through distance mode:
• learner must be alone while appearing for the interview.
• there should nobody accompanying a learner in the interview to assist
• any leaner seeking for special consideration / reasonable adjustment must ID communicate to appropriate authorities to the centre in advance
• learner must show the room before the interview starts
• the room should be quiet with appropriate lighting.
• the learner can keep a water bottle handy
• learner must not be smoking. A smoke may blur the vision
• learner must keep the devise camara clean
• The learner is not allowed to leave the work station of assessment till the assessment process is over
• must not wear earphone/earpods/headphones/wireless earphone, textbooks, reference material, notes, presentations
• learner must not be keeping mobile phone around
• the device speaker and microphone must be tested
• there should be enough internet bandwidth while attending the interview
• any reasonable adjustment should be claimed/declared prior to attending interview
• learner must not leave the room until the assessment is over
• any power spike or lost of internet connectivity will not be accepted. A learner will have to take the assessment again in case of such instances
• Learners are not allowed to surf internet, textbooks, videos or any reference material during exams.
Reasonable arrangements & special consideration are subject to approval from the awarding body.
E-assessment can be performed in a classroom or through distance mode if the appropriate, competent, valid and reliable software is available with the centre in advance in order to use them for E-assessment, which includes licenced software, MS Teams, plagiarism tool, Google meets etc.
B. 1.6. Validity of E-assessment:
• Are required to be recorded digitally with a sufficient amount of numbers in order to perform the internal and external quality assurance exercise.
• Must have sufficient equipment in order to perform the assessment exercise effectively, reliably and fit for purpose.
• Must be followed by a final interview prior to Internal quality assurance .
• Must not be altered, modified or amended in any situation. If the situation demands the modification in any case, a detailed report must be prepared covering the instance, logics of amendments and how the purpose of assessment is protected.
• Are valid only if a self-declaration “ The enclosed assignment has been prepared by myself without any external assistance following all policies if assessment” is attached along with the assignment. The same is collected from every learner appearing for E- assessment, stating the work demonstrated in the evidence is done by himself/herself.
• The demonstrated evidences must be quality assured by EQA.
C. Malpractice and Maladministration:
A learner is required to perform with complete integrity during the assessment. Failing to which, malpractice and maladministration policy will be followed. A learner not making an ethical attempt and attempting any malpractice or plagiarism or any unethical practice in the examination, the learner may lose his/her registration from that course/qualification. During the investigation, if learner is found helping a learner during examination may attract sanctions. E-assessments are subject to the final interview where a Lerner is asked to ensure that the work produced in entirely own without anyone’s assistance, collusion, impersonation, help or support.
Any malpractice by learner will lead to:
• Cancelation of learner assessment and/or result
• Cancellation of course registration
• Revoke of declared result and/or certificate/award
• Disciplinary actions in case the malpractice is saviour and potentially harming a group or learners/mass of learners

B-1: What’s next after assessments:
• The results shall be declared within 30 working days after receiving the final report from External Quality Assurer.
(E) During E-assessment:
1. Learners are required to demonstrate the evidence as per the guidance mentioned in the exam paper.
2. Learners must submit their evidence of work within the specified time frame. The work submitted after the specified time frame will not be considered.
3. Learners must keep an eye on the start date and the end date of the assessment to submit their evidence within the specified timeframe.
4. Before submitting the evidence, learners must review their evidence they intend to submit as a part of their demonstrated work.
5. Once the work is submitted, the learner must check if they have submitted the correct evidence.
6. The evidence must carry the required information of the learner on the evidence. Unidentified evidence will not be accepted, and the learner may lose the chance to appear for the same assessment.
7. Once the assessment report is submitted, the external quality assurer assesses the process following the EQA policy.
E-assessments must go through the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) before they appear for the External Quality Assurance exercise(EQA).
During quality assurance process, by the quality assurer, a learner may be asked to appear in the assessment interview. If the learner is asked to attend the interview, the learner must attend the interview in order to get the result published.
Final interview is the process of verifying learners work. In some assessments it is compulsory for learners to appear in a final virtual to be awarded the result. This policy describes the assessments where the final interview is required, must be taken. During IQA and EQA a learner may also be asked to appear in a final virtual interview.
When will final interview be taken:
After every E-assessment, it is compulsory to attend a final interview. Final interview doesn’t give any summative feedback to a learner. It is to ensure the work submitted by a learn is his/her own work. IQA is the function area where Quality assurers may take an additional round of interview for a candidate/bunch of candidates/or all. Centre must inform all learners in advance about the process of final interview as defined in this policy and in Centre arrangement booklet.
Final interviews will be taken:
1. After E-assessment (any form) of the final examination And can be taken:
1. Internal Quality Assurance (additional round may be taken)
2. External Quality Assurance (additional round may be taken)
(G) Recognition of prior learning and appropriate adjustment:
In order to apply the RPL, the centre must follow the RPL policy with integrity, and transparently.
While undertaking the assessment, the centre must ensure to apply reasonable adjustment and special conditions following the appropriate adjustment policy on applicable learners.
(H) Record generation:
After every assessment, internal quality control must be done by the centre. This exercise is to be performed at various stages.
a) After undergoing the assessment
b) After internal quality assurance
The said records must be under the GDPR law and data protection policy. They should be kept safe, confidential and secured in order to perform the external quality assurance exercise.
(I) Assessment Malpractice:
Malpractice or maladministration in assessment leads to the rejection of end result issued by the centre. It will result in refusal of assessment and may create a serious impact on the whole assessment exercise. The centre must ensure not to have any such instances during the complete assessment exercise, including internal quality assurance. Malpractice in assessment also attracts the sanctions. Please read malpractice and maladministration policy for further details.
(J) Feedback and appeals:
Centre must take feedback of learners after undertaking every assessment. The feedback must be recorded as a part of data recording and shared with the External Quality Assurer for that assessment.
There must be an escalation matrix displayed to them to ensure their appeals are heard and taken into consideration. The escalation matrix should be able to help them raise query/concerns they might have regarding the end result of the assessment. It is the responsibility of the centre to ensure the queries on the final result of the assessment are attended, heard and explained with required logics, details and evidence to learners. Plagiarism (pronounced as /ˈpleɪdʒərɪz(ə)m/) means showing and submitting someone else’s work as your own in the exams or any other academic submission. The plagiarism policy is applied to everyone in the Institution.
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism is described as submitting as one’s work, irrespective of intent to deceive, that which derives in part or its totality from the work of others without due acknowledgement; or, in the case of self-plagiarism, unless explicitly allowed by law, submitting one’s work. It is a breach of academic honesty and sincerity. Plagiarism includes copying (practising someone else’s language and ideas as if they are your own), by:
• Cut/Copy and Paste from the Internet or any online source or soft copies/software or any other resource.
• Using ideas/plans/patents/ trademarks/copyrighted information or taken from someone else without reference to the originator; unless it is copyright-free (strictly for reference purpose only).
• You are submitting someone else’s work.
• Paraphrasing the pre-done work by changing some of the words, or the order of the words.
Plagiarism can also occur concerning the below type of area:
• Material downloaded from websites or extracted from manuscripts or other media;
• Published/unpublished material, including other students’ work.
What is Self-plagiarism?
Assignments that have previously submitted to must not be provided. Self-plagiarism occurs when the same portion of work (or a part thereof) is presented and found for formal assessment twice.
What is a Citation?
It becomes compulsory to give a reference to the work in the same way with the name of its author. It’s the responsibility of the student that he / she has read/ understood the IIMT Studies’ plagiarism policy and follow it in all work presented for assessment.
In case of any query, please raise the ticket to the Helpdesk from the portal account. The Institution uses software & programmes to identify the plagiarised contents in the examination, question papers, assignments, case studies & research/research papers.
In case of failing in compiling the Plagiarism policy, in the case of suspected cases, the Panel may well take the disciplinary action, in compliance with the policy.
Consequences of Plagiarism
Any such unauthorised practices cannot be accepted. Disciplinary actions will be taken if the centre is found favouring the plagiarism in the assessment. Please read the above malpractice and maladministration section to know more about consequences.
